Job Description
As a Painter and Decorator, you will assess surfaces, apply primers and paints, and ensure clean, high-quality finishes. This role also includes wallpapering, staining, and decorative texturing. You'll use brushes, rollers, or spray guns depending on the job. Surface preparation is a crucial part of your responsibilities, including sanding, filling, and cleaning. Color sense, attention to detail, and precision are vital for this job.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, filling holes, and cleaning
- Apply paint, wallpaper, varnishes, or other finishes
- Mix and match paint colors as per client requirements
- Ensure work areas are clean and safe
- Use ladders, scaffolds, and other equipment safely
- Advise clients on color schemes and materials
Requirements
- Apprenticeship or experience in painting and decorating
- Steady hand and attention to detail
- Physical stamina for climbing and standing for long periods
- Familiarity with painting tools and techniques
