Job Brief
As a Support Worker, your role is to assist clients with daily tasks, provide emotional support, and help them engage with the community. You may work in private homes, aged care facilities, or disability support centers. The role requires empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in someone’s life.
Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with personal care (e.g., bathing, dressing)
- Supporting meal preparation and household tasks
- Helping clients attend medical appointments and community events
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Maintaining accurate care records and reporting changes in health
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of each client
Requirements
- Certificate III/IV in Individual Support or Disability (or equivalent)
- First Aid and CPR certification
- A valid driver’s license (often required)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Background checks (e.g., police clearance)
Wages
Average hourly wage: $20 to $30 AUD
May include weekend/evening rates, travel allowances, and benefits
